This was the first upgrade of the lobby since construction; the upgrade also included corridors, elevators, the mailroom and all public spaces. The finishes and lighting were upgraded from low-end to a clean, modern design that is in balance with the building. Prior to renovation, the floors were carpeted in red and the walls were covered in blue striped wallpaper.
Pendent and sconce lights are now used to create an even flow of luminosity throughout the large space. A wooden desk was used to bring harmony to the lobby and tie in with the elevator cabins, whose interiors were upgraded with wood, steel and stone. The paneled elevator doors are clad in stainless steel.
RAI interfaced with engineers on exterior repairs and upgrades of mechanical systems to provide new amenities such as power for an air conditioning system.
